Karl’s upbringing was steeped in the world of directing and production, courtesy of his filmmaker parents. Immersed in film sets from a young age, he cultivated his passion for visual storytelling.
Throughout his college years, Karl honed his craft by directing numerous short promotional videos and crafting music videos.
His graduation film, “Hollow Peak,” garnered acclaim at prestigious international festivals like Sitges Film Festival and Dumbo Film Festival, winning the Maskoon Film Festival in 2018.
Karl’s creative pursuits took a socially conscious turn, most notably with his poignant short film “Cradle”, honoring the victims of the Beirut explosion. The film was part of Beirut 6:07, a mini-series nominated for the Emmys in 2021.
In 2022, Karl co-created and co-directed the groundbreaking interactive play “Farha,” staged within an entire residential building, earning widespread acclaim.
The following year, he led the renovation of Cinema Royal, transforming a once-abandoned pornographic cinema into a non-profit cultural hub featuring weekly cinema screenings, concerts, plays, and discussions to invigorate Lebanon’s cultural landscape.
Alongside Odd Ends, He is currently developing his debut feature film, “Last Exit,” a crime psychological thriller, is currently in development and offers a gripping exploration of Beirut’s subcultures through the lens of a fractured detective.
At Odd Ends, Karl brings his passion for storytelling, film, and visual culture, ensuring brands connect with audiences through immersive and impactful content.
